Throughout 2025, Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development collaborates with the Egyptian Biodynamic Association-EBDA and the Economy of Love-EoL standard, to host a series of Social Initiative Forum events that celebrates and highlights the efforts of the Egyptian farmers across Egypt’s governorates as climate heroes who effectively contribute to tackling climate action through organic agriculture.
The events host the presence of high level governmental officials and a diverse group of organizations that promote climate action through empowering Egyptian farmers in their journey to transforming from traditional agriculture to organic agriculture.
About The Forums
February 2025: Forum on Localizing the Cultivation of Organic Medicinal and Aromatic Plants
Hosted under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, and in the presence of Dr. Alaa Farouk, the Minister of Agriculture & Land Reclamation, and Dr. Hany Sweilam, Minister of Water Resources & Irrigation. It also included the presence of celebrated farmers from the governorates of Beni Suef & New Valley along with their respective governors and government officials for environment and agriculture.
The forum celebrated the efforts of farmers in the aforementioned governorates and tackled the successful model of cultivation of organic medicinal and aromatic plants as a catalyst to climate action that can be duplicated in various Egyptian governorates.
Among the recognized attendees were Dr. Tarek Abu Bakr, Board Member of Agricultural Export Council, CEO of Concrete, a leading fashion manufacturer in Egypt, and Chapter Zero Egypt representatives, an initiative that operates under the global Climate Governance Initiative in collaboration with the World Economic Forum.

May 2025: Forum on Carbon Credits & Economy of Love as Tools for Cultural, Ecological, Economic & Societal Sustainable Development in Egypt
Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority of Egypt; along with the governors & governmental representatives of the ministries of agriculture and environments for Sohag, Assuit, Kafr El Sheikh and Beheira governorates.
The forum celebrated the efforts of farmers in the aforementioned governorates and tackled the impact of carbon credits & Economy of Love standard as tools for the holistic sustainable development of the Egyptian community and raising the livelihood standard of Egyptian farmers.
The event also hosted the attendance of representatives from various organizations & institutes such the Egyptian National Water Research Center, Environment and Climate Change Research Institute, Elsewedy Electric and ICPM Group, among others.

What’s next?
Together, the HU, EBDA & EoL are planning to host two additional forums to celebrate farmers across more governorates of Egypt, happening in July and September 2025, under diverse topics that tackle the sustainable development practices and highlighting the positive impact of the farmers’ efforts towards climate action.
