Climate change is one of the greatest global challenges of our time, with significant impacts on ecosystems, economies and people’s lives. Understanding this phenomenon requires not only scientific knowledge, but also an understanding of how societies respond through policies and governance mechanisms.

This module will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of climate science, including the causes and main impacts of climate change. At the same time, it will explore how different levels of governance—international and national—contribute to the global response to the climate challenge.

Throughout the module, participants will develop an integrated understanding of science, policy and action, enabling them to better interpret current debates and recognise the role that individuals and organisations can play in promoting sustainability.
