Monterey – Her focus is on the ocean. For many years, renowned marine scientist Prof. Antje Boetius headed the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Bremerhaven, researching polar regions and marine life. Now, the German scientist has been appointed president of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in California.

In conversation with Constantin Schreiber, she explains what she expects as a scientist from journalists who cover climate issues.

Science journalism should also repeatedly highlight “where we currently stand and who has what solutions at the ready,” she explains in the interview.
